    School Supplies

Cedar Park requests families pay a once-a-year fee that allows us to leverage the buying power of Seattle Public Schools. We order exactly what our students need for the classroom work they do every day.

Additionally, in 2019-2020, we will include a small technology fee that will allow students access to a few proven literacy and math programs that will be available to families at home and over school breaks as well.

You will receive more specific information about fees and how to pay in September. Scholarships are available. All students will be able to participate in every activity.

    Academics & Expedition

Cedar Park follows Seattle Schools curricula in Literacy (Center for the Collaborative Classroom) and Math (Math in Focus). In the 2019-2020 school year we will focus on Math instruction as well as continuing our strong work in Literacy.

Expeditionary Learning will be led at the classroom level in this academic year. Expeditions will be formulated to deepen and expand student learning in their core instruction and provide several opportunities for hands-on learning and application.

    IDEA Time

As part of our commitment to equity for all Cedar Park students, we offer in-school enrichment every week. IDEA time (Imagine, Design, Expand, Achieve) happens every Wednesday after lunch.

Sessions run on a rotation 3/6 week schedule. Three week sessions are geared towards creative activities. Six week schedules are geared towards scientific & academic activities.

In 2018-2019 IDEA Time classes included Aerodynamics, Nature Art, Slime Time, Ocean Commotion, Bike Club, Archery, Coloring Club, Trading Card Club and many more.

    Student Health

Cedar Park has a nurse one day a week. When health issues arise office personnel assist students and make contact with parents as needed.

    • Health Issues: if your student has an important health issue (like an allergy or asthma), please fill out a Student Health Form and return it to the Cedar Park office. The Nurse will contact you to set up a care plan and will educate staff.
    • Too sick for school?: if your student becomes ill at school, we will ask that you pick them up and take them home to recuperate. Students must be fever/vomit/diarrhea free for 24 hours (without medication) before they return to school.
