In case of emergency, follow these safety procedures
Shelter-In-Place
Keeping students and staff from dangers in the community.
Staff
- Bring everyone indoors
- Lock perimeter doors
- Be on heightened alert
- Business as usual
- Take attendance
- Listen for more instructions from administrators
Students
- Return indoors/to class
- Academics continue as usual
- Limited movement throughout campus
Lockdown
Protecting students and staff from external and internal dangers.
Staff
- Lock interior doors
- Turn off the lights
- Move out of sight
- Keep door closed and locked
- Keep students calm and quiet
- Take attendance
- Listen for more instructions from police, SPS security, or administrators
Students
- Return indoors/to class
- Move out of sight
- Stay calm and quiet
- Follow adult instructions
Evacuation
Clearing building and/or area due to a dangerous situation.
Staff
- Lead students to designated location
- Take attendance
- Notify administrators of missing, extra, or injured students
- Listen for all clear from administrators or follow reunification procedures
Students
- Leave all personal items behind
- Follow adult instructions
