Friday Howl!
Cedar Park Newsletter
June 18, 2025
Hello Timber Wolves,
It has been an incredible year, and I can’t believe it is over already. I want to say congratulations once more to our graduating 5th graders. You did it! Thank you to all the family, friends, and special guests who were able to come and celebrate this momentous occasion with us yesterday. Cedar Park thrives because of the partnerships and collaboration we have with our families!
Don’t forget that school is dismissed at 1:25pm today.
Don’t forget to check our Lost & Found before all items get donated to charity at the end of the year.
June is Pride month and you can join Seattle Public Schools march in the annual Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29th. Families, students, staff, and allies from across the district will be gathering along 4th avenue (look for the yellow school bus) starting at 11am. You can find out more about the parade and other Pride events this month at the Seattle Pride website seattlepride.org
During the summer our office will have limited hours and availability from July 1st to mid-August. You can email information and questions to us at cedarpark@seattleschools.org during the summer. Emails will be prioritized and responded to starting in mid-August. Here are couple more important dates you may be interested in as we approach the start of next school year:
- Thurs 8/28: Classroom assignments sent out to families
- Tues 9/2: PTA hosted teacher “Meet and Greet” in our park. Most teachers will be able to attend as their schedule allows. More details to come out as we get closer to the start of school.
- Wed 9/3: First day of school for grades 1st-5th (Family Connections for K and PreK families held that week)
- Mon 9/8: First day of school for K and PreK families
Here is a bit of joy from this short week: I have received so many unsolicited hugs, smiles, cards, and letters from students who are excited for the end of school but clearly a little sad to not be at Cedar Park for a while. I am enjoying hearing about summer plans, signing yearbooks, and telling them how ready they are for the next grade. Have a great summer and I will see you in fall. For those of you who are moving on to other places or schools, I wish you the best of luck and remind you to come back and visit! Once a Timberwolf, always a Timberwolf.
