Breakfast & Lunch at School
Posted on: August 27, 2025
Students are welcome to bring breakfast or lunch from home or to purchase a meal in the cafeteria.
Purchasing Meals
- Every student has a meal account already set up
- You can add money to your student’s account online at https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain?requestAction=home
- You can also bring cash or check (no credit cards) to Ms. Mac in the cafeteria to deposit directly
- You can apply for Free & Reduced Meals online at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application or by completing the paper application that will come home in the Start of School packet
- Learn more about menus and meal prices here https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/culinary-services/
Breakfast
- The Cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:40 and will serve Breakfast After the Bell until 8:30
- If students are still eating their breakfast when the bell rings at 7:50, they can take it to class with them to finish
- Breakfast often includes a hot choice, but will always include a vegetarian choice, fruit and milk
- No pork products are used in our kitchen (ex. “bacon” is made from turkey)
- Students who are not eating breakfast between 7:40 and 7:50 should remain on the playground
- If your student needs breakfast, remind them to go to the cafeteria as soon as they arrive at school
Lunch
- Staff will support students purchasing lunch as they figure out the routine
- Students do not need to memorize their PIN (their 7 number student ID)
- Lunch often includes a hot choice, but will always have a few options with at least one vegetarian option, fruit and milk
- If your student has food restriction due to preference, religion or allergy, please let your student’s teacher know so that they can support lunch choices (if the allergy is life-threatening, please make sure our Nurse, Amy Jones is aware)
